Naturally Modern

by Heather Shoning

“People have realized the benefit of creating that spa experience in their personal, everyday space,” designer Lisa Samuel says.

Oversized stone-look tile brings the irregular movement of natural materials indoors, while wood cabinetry tempers the room’s cleaner lines. Sculptural lighting and integrated technology add contemporary polish without pushing the design into colder territory.

But the real indulgence here isn’t any single fixture or finish. It’s an opportunity to turn everyday routines into something worth slowing down for. Cleansing, getting ready or unwinding at night become small rituals within a setting deliberately designed to offer a bit of the repose once reserved for a day at the spa.
