Outdoor spaces should be an extension of the home. So when these homeowners wanted a lovely space to enjoy the evening, this shade tree became its focal point. “We wanted to highlight the natural shape of the tree with the uplighting,” says Joseph Barnes, Yellowstone Landscape’s marketing director. “They can go out on a cool evening and enjoy the outdoors.” To give the homeowners a useful patio that wouldn’t be hard to maintain, Barnes says the company incorporated native plants that will handle the elements. These lovely ornamental grasses and potted plants add color and texture, without overwhelming the landscape.
