“Every room, finish and material in the home was designed in the midcentury modern vernacular … form follows function,” says Jodi L. Vevoda, executive vice president of Prull Custom Builders. “The master bath, in particular, was meant to be clean and serene, yet functional.” The underlit his and hers custom floating vanities are a lesson in balance as well as contrast. Positioned on opposite walls, they provide ample personal space, while the rich, dark walnut is in contradistinction to the granite countertops, crisp white vessel sinks and satin nickel hardware. The freestanding oval soaking tub softens the space and provides a relaxing retreat looking out on the surrounding BLM land, while a remote recessed roller shade offers privacy. The large-format porcelain tile on the walls transition to polished concrete floors with radiant heating and cooling. “I love the serene mixing of colors, finishes, materials and lighting,” says Vevoda. “Together they provide a very soft, comforting and inviting ambiance, along with the ample glass, which seamlessly connects indoor to outdoor.”
