Wallen Homes Founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the early 1980s as a framing company, Wallen Homes moved into the home building business after being handed the last thirty contracts within Rio Rancho, New Mexico, by AMREP Southwest Inc., the original developer of Rio Rancho. Owner Gary Wallen never looked back. The company is now one of only two New Mexico builders with the coveted National Housing Quality Award from the National Association of Home Builders Research Center, requiring training not only in home-building standards but also employee relations and community representation as well. President and General Manager Jenice Montoya says this training allows the company to not only maintain rigid standards of quality but also to create a positive work environment for staff as well. When founder Gary Wallen retired in 2007, his longtime accountant, Larry Filener, came on board along with two partners, Eric Wallace and Mark Bozzone, ensuring that Wallen’s vision of quality building with deep community involvement would continue. With communities in Cabezon, Estancia, Bernalillo, and Rio Rancho, Wallen homes has been a Homes of Enchantment Parade winner since 2005. With an eye on the future and a strong commitment to community-minded building, Wallen Homes is currently transitioning into the arena of green building. |
