Sun Mountain Construction It is one thing to get on a bandwagon once a trend is popular; it is quite another to help start a movement. Norm Schreifels, a founding member of Build Green New Mexico, has been a part of the trend towards Green Building and deeply committed to the movement’s concepts long before it was a movement and has actively promoted the benefits of environmentally conscientious home construction since the inception in 1987 of his company, Sun Mountain Construction. With more than 60 design and construction awards under his belt, Schreifels was the first builder to be endorsed by Green Builder Magazine and has been featured nationally for his innovative blend of luxury homes and green concepts. The recent recipient of a 2007 Homes of Enchantment Parade Gold Award and the Buyer’s Choice Award, Schreifels was also prominently featured in the Custom Builders Council Home Tour. Schreifels garnered a flurry of national attention with his 2006 project, a massive Corrales home which proved contrary to popular opinion that green building could be paired with high-square-footage luxury. |
