Homes By Marie When Betty Blea, founder and owner of Homes by Marie, started out in the construction business in 1990, there were only a handful of local women running their own custom home businesses. Blea faced the tall order of being the only one in her family involved in the business. She credits loyal, hardworking subcontractors and vendors with helping her off to a great start. Domonic P.Perea is now the field superintendent and brings twenty years of building experience. Not only did the former vice president of various banks who oversaw litigation, marketing, advertising, and bank branches prove the naysayers wrong, Blea’s company is now synonymous with luxury and quality New Mexican- and Tuscan-style custom homes. Along with several custom home projects each year, Homes by Marie is also a commercial builder. Their latest commercial project, the exquisite 18,000 square foot Clubhouse in the Nature Point Subdivision, located in the East Mountains just minutes from Albuquerque, boasts a wellness center, large multi-purpose rooms with massive vigas and wood treatments, and a year-round heated indoor pool. Blea, who has a long history of community service, also works from time to time in collaboration with fellow builders to create communities and luxurious dwellings. |
