Hannah/Paine home

Here are some pictures of the work being done on our strawbale home in Pueblo West, Colorado. We sold two houses and pooled resources with my mom to build our own dream home—big enough for three! We’ve built it from as much recycled and eco-friendly supplies as possible (tile, doors, etc.). We call the house “Casa de Puertas” for the 20-plus different salvaged doors it’s composed of. I’m an artist and my husband is a plasterer, so this home has given us a huge canvas on which to practice our art. (It’s a work in progress . . . but hopefully more good to come!)
