Subtle design elements add up to a big impact in this kitchen, which glows with the natural hues of clay plaster, tumbled travertine backsplash tile, and alder cabinets by Cindy Mauchly of Santa Fe Custom Works. The cabinetry gets an aged patina from a distressed finish treated with a stain and glaze. A carved support adds a decorative touch to the granite and alder island.
