Southwestern homes possess a rich tradition of craftsmanship and a distinctive style all their own. The style is characterized in many ways—a crisp blue window frame accenting a classic adobe, a hand-forged chandelier against a clean plastered wall, wooden corbels skillfully carved by a seasoned craftsperson. It’s eclectic, it’s organic, it’s the beauty of lovingly handmade pieces that couldn’t come from anywhere else.

In this spirit of place-centered design, we present Su Casa Style, a unique line of limited edition hand-crafted products of the Southwest. These delightful birdhouses and nichos are inspired by the churches of New Mexico and made with recycled local materials, forming a tangible connection to the region.

“As much as I can make it look like it grew up in New Mexico, that’s what I’m trying to do,” says Thomas Hogan, owner and craftsman of Old New Mexico Birdhouse Company in Bernardo, New Mexico, who makes each birdhouse and nicho by hand.

Old wooden pieces that used to be New Mexican barns, house trim, furniture—even a past-its-prime horse corral—find a new purpose as Hogan’s raw materials. His hand-carving, painting, metalwork, and one-of-a-kind designs create rustic works of art for Southwestern homes and houses Southwestern at heart.

Please note that these are limited edition products. Each birdhouse
and nicho is handmade and unique—orders will not be identical to the
items pictured here. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for your order
to be delivered. Object in nicho not included.
